Demon Face Syndrome: Seeing Real Possession?

What is the “Demon Face” syndrome, and is it real? A man claimed to see people’s faces become warped and even shift to look demonic and scary. Up until this point, the world had never heard of this before. However, studies have shown that others have this syndrome, as well. It potentially goes as far back as the early 1900s. However, something was different then: namely, people’s faces didn’t seem to be distorted—only objects and rooms. This was why it was given many different names, including “Alice in Wonderland syndrome.”

But what is the real cause of this strange and extremely rare syndrome, which is officially called prosopometamorphopsia? Are others seeing real examples of either demonic possession or spirits, or is something else going on? Is this all just a neurological disorder, or are we living a real-life “They Live” movie in which certain people see others change before their very eyes?
