These cyber systems are so sophisticated and intricate that their aim is to defeat the United States without having to engage in kinetic warfare. What does this mean for the layperson? They’ve targeted everything from personal data and intellectual property of major companies to critical infrastructure, including power grids, water supply systems, and assets in the skies.

The CCP’s Salt Typhoon group infiltrated over 200 targets across more than 80 countries. China has also adopted a strategy of hybrid warfare against countries it considers hostile or potentially hostile. And geoengineering in particular has the potential to become a game-changing tool in Beijing’s implementation of this hybrid warfare strategy.
